===== Explanation of the presentation =====

I would like to briefly give you some thoughts on my depiction of a free woman of the 10th century from Scandinavia / Birka.

It is difficult to find a title for a female class. So far, Court Lady fits best for me. The idea is to depict a free woman of the upper middle class.

My depiction is defined by the jewellery and equipment in the Scandinavian-Baltic region or by individual items from Birka in the 10th century. These include, for example, the belt and the belt pouch as well as the fibulae and the necklace.

The typical oval or turtle fibulae and typical accessories such as ear spoons, keys and combs are still missing to complete the depiction.

===== Summary of the overall presentation =====

This is my attempt at the simplest possible portrayal of a simple man. I try to avoid any particular characteristics of a regional or chronological categorisation. It is therefore a basic depiction for Central Europe from 900-1100, which I can adapt regionally and chronologically by subsequently adding jewellery or tools.

====== Presentation Presentation Standard ======

The introduction of each presentation should be as follows:

* Title
* Images
* Summary

This is followed by the free part.

===== Link =====

The name of the link should be structured as follows \\
time_place_status_(representing-person)

**Time:** The time should always be given in four digits and is either the time 1234 or the period 0850-0877. In the case of a period, the two numbers are connected with a minus sign ‘-’ as this dash is present on every keyboard.\\
**Place:** The place can be a large area such as ‘Central Europe’, a specific historical place such as ‘Haithabu’ or a historical area of influence such as ‘holy_roman_empire’\\
**Status:** The status indicates the social position or the profession\\
**Performing person:** Name of the performing person\\

basically applies:

* Everything is always separated with underscores.
* Everything is always written in lower case, including the file extension.
* ä,ö,ü and ß are transcribed with ae,oe,ue and ss.

**Examples:**\\
0900-1000_skandinavien_birka_hofbesitzerin_dana\\
1030_haithabu_simple_friedrich\\

===== Title =====

The title has a similar structure to the link and is structured as follows:\\
Time, place, state [specific circumstance]; (person presenting)

**Time:** This is either a point in time 1234 or the period 850-0877\\
**Place and state:** As perhaps more detailed in the link\\
**Concrete circumstance:** This can be something like battlefield, everyday life, travelling, festive, illness … \\
**Person portraying:** The name of the person portraying is put in brackets. \\

**Examples:**\\
900-1000, Scandinavia/Birka, free woman/farm owner, (Dana)\\
1030, Haithabu, Simple, (Friedrich)\\

===== Images =====

There should be one or two meaningful pictures at the beginning of the description. They should give a good impression of the depiction.
Preferably in a simple standing position, once frontal and once sideways. With a calm background.
Preferably with a typical object.

==== Naming pictures: ====

The name of images is structured similarly to the link and is structured as follows:\\
Time_Place_Stand_Representing_person_view_number

**Time, location, stand, performing-person:** as in the link\\
**view:** The view can be something like: front, from_right, top, side, detail, detail_pocket, ...\\
**Number:** A number is only given if this is necessary.\\

**Examples:**\\
0900-1000_scandinavia_birka_farm_owner_dana_site.jpg\\
1030_haithabu_simple_friedrich_front.jpg\\\

==== Image sizes ====

The presentation images should be .jpg files with a compression of 75 %, not leaving too much free space around the person but also not cutting anything off. It is best to keep each image under 1 MB. What doesn't work, doesn't work.

==== Caption images ====

The pictures are followed by a signature stating when the picture was taken. In other words, in which years the image was worn by the person portraying it. This is done in the usual time format year_month_day. If possible, the reason for the photograph is also appended, for example: ‘Burgmannentage’ or ‘Für die Kinder Uni’.

===== Summary =====

A short summary of the presentation should be written here. It should not be longer than five lines.

Below this is a short table with what can be seen in the picture.\\
Consisting of: Clothing, jewellery, equipment

The individual items are listed from bottom to top, from the feet to the head, from the underwear to the coat.

===== Free part =====

Here everyone does what they want to do.

===== Outlook =====

In this part, the performers describe what they want to continue working on in the future. What is not yet as they want it to be and in which direction they are thinking further.

 This is where Heydenwallis publish their historical accounts. We realise that a good presentation can never be complete and is therefore in a constant state of development. Depending on the interests at hand, a different focus is placed or a particular aspect is emphasised. As Heydenwall only has guidelines for presentations based on the events we attend, which we understandably fulfil, everyone can still develop freely and according to their own will in the presentation. As amateurs, our resources are naturally limited, but we orientate ourselves as far as possible to the latest scientific findings and are always open to constructive criticism. For us, the motivation for our endeavours is derived from the fun we have in the process. You are always welcome to contact us personally or via the contact form.

 We have set ourselves a [[:en:darstellung:darstellungen:darstellung_standard]] for the publication of the presentations.
