This is my attempt at the simplest possible portrayal of a simple man. I try to avoid any particular characteristics of a regional or chronological categorisation. It is therefore a basic depiction for Central Europe from 900-1100, which I can adapt regionally and chronologically by subsequently adding jewellery or tools.

    • Linen tunic (tied with a leather belt with an iron tongue), linen breeches and woollen leg warmers (worn with a simple leather belt), simple half-round woollen cap, madder-red woollen scarf, woollen nalbinding socks and simple half-height leather shoes.

  1. My current goal is to include more references in my presentation description. :-)
  2. I want to make it clear where sources are missing.
  3. I want to replace the linen undergarments with wool, as this is more appropriate according to my current knowledge.
  4. I want to clarify how suitable neckerchiefs are.
  5. I would like to clarify whether knives and pouches are worn over or under the tunic.
